I am more flexible then ever before, have much more core strength and control, and can move around freely without being restricted by pain. As a cheerleading coach and choreographer, my mobility, flexibility and core strength are extremely important to my everyday work and having a successful career. Lora created a program specifically designed for my needs and has worked with me through every exercise. Her passion for pilates overflows into her teaching and the entire studio. Without a doubt, PSC has allowed me to continue down a path I once thought I could not travel. Now stronger and with a better understanding of my body, I am able to continue coaching cheer and stay athletic on a daily basis. Pilates changed my life! If I had not experienced it myself
I would not believe that one form of exercise could be so powerful
and affect such a change in my body.
I started Pilates when I was 3 months pregnant with my first child
and was experiencing terrible back pain. The exercises kept me flexible,
toned and strong! I had tried yoga but Pilates was the only type
of exercise that could target the specific areas of my back.
I also did Pilates up to just a few days before the birth of my
second child and I know that being in shape helped during my baby's
delivery.
I cannot praise the Pilates method enough and Lora and Amy at Pilates
Studio City, they have helped me so much!"

Pilates is the most pleasurable, least stressful form of exercise
I have ever done. Not only has it helped me loose over 130 lbs.
but my chronic lower back pain is gone and I am toned all over.
A man in an elevator even called me "ripped"! The fact
that it is low (or no?) impact preserves my joints but gives me
a VERY effective workout. What is so remarkable is that Pilates
can be adapted to any fitness level on a continually evolving basis...
Pilates is all about how you want your workouts to be ... and I
am able to be accommodated without feeling different or self conscious.
Perhaps what I enjoy most about PSC is the friendly, casual atmosphere.
I have been coming religiously for over a year and I among friends--
it is not some glamour body showcase but a professional, effective,
unpretentious, cozy studio. Instructors are dedicated and knowledgeable
but without a "boot camp" or "celebrity" mentality.
I started very heavy and there was no judgment about my size- only
support. Pilates has been a godsend and PSC is my favorite place
for working out. All hail Joe Pilates...

I love my Pilates private lesson at the studio. Although I had previous
tried Yoga and working out at a gym this is a much more focused
workout. By focusing on the core of the body, I am strengthening
my back and other muscle areas that have in the past given me trouble.
I used to get leg cramps constantly, but not any more! It combines
stretching, weight training & aspects of Yoga all with constant
attention by a private instructor which eliminates the chances of
injury. It starts out slowly for several weeks while learning how
to focus on precise muscles and then PZOW!
It has affected the way I live. Now when I lift, bend and sit I
am always thinking of doing it correctly and using my core muscles.

I am soon to be a 55-year-old Asian female. In 1996 I had a medically
necessary abdominal hysterectomy due to ovarian and uterine tumors.
Needless to say, my abdominal muscles were never the same. I took
beginning ballet to strengthen my body but my abs were still 'bulging
out, flabby, with scar tissue, and would not tone.' My ballet teacher
advised Pilates to compliment my recovery program. In August 2003
I first started Pilates - mat classes, semi-privates, and privates.
Trying to 'get with the program' and naturally bring my body back,
especially my abs. Many friends of mine have taken the 'quick' tummy
tucks away. I have never been one to be tempted to do it quick,
I believe that my body experienced great trauma and it had to heal
and now I am working to bring long-term health and well being back
to it. Pilates Studio City is making the difference in my physical
body and my doctor says my lab work is showing great numbers. Everyone
at the studio cares about you and what you want to achieve.
